Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
1. Overview:
At Hexonine Games Inc. ("Hexonine", "we", "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we collect and use it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It applies to all games we develop or publish on any platform, including Curse of Baghdad, to our website hexonine.ca, and to our newsletter, online shop and support channels.
2. Information We Collect:
(a) Personal Information:
* Name and email address (when you contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or place an order)
* Shipping and billing address and order details (when you buy from our shop)
* Gaming platform information: your platform account ID, display name, language setting, and achievement or trophy progress (see section 3(c))
(b) Non-Personal Information:
* Aggregate data on how visitors use our website
We do not collect your date of birth or precise location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
3. How We Collect Information:
(a) Directly from You:
* Information you provide through our contact form, by email or on social media
* Information you provide when you subscribe to our newsletter
* Information you provide when you place an order in our shop (and, if you choose to create a customer account, your saved account details)
(b) Automatically:
* Our website host, Squarespace, collects usage details, IP addresses, browser and device type, and information collected through cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
(c) From Gaming Platforms:
* Our games are distributed through platforms such as Steam, the Epic Games Store and PlayStation. You create and manage your account with the platform, not with us.
* To make game features work, the platform may give the game limited information, such as your account ID, display name, language setting, achievement or trophy progress, and your friends list if a game has online features.
* For example, a game that signs you in with Epic Account Services receives, with your permission, your Epic account ID, display name, preferred language and the display names of your linked accounts.
* Our games do not show advertising and do not send us your personal information or gameplay analytics. Saved games and settings stay on your device (or in your platform's cloud storage, if you enable it).
4. How We Use Your Information:
(a) To Provide Services:
* To run our games and their features, such as sign-in, achievements, trophies and saves
* To process, ship and support your orders
* To answer your questions and support requests
(b) To Improve Our Services:
* Reviewing aggregate website traffic and the feedback and bug reports you send us
(c) To Communicate:
* Sending updates, newsletters and marketing materials, only if you subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
5. Disclosure of Your Information:
We share personal information only with the companies that help us provide our services, and only as much as they need. Each of them handles it under its own privacy policy:
* Valve Corporation (Steam): https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/
* Epic Games, Inc. (Epic Games Store, Epic Account Services, Epic Online Services): https://legal.epicgames.com/epicgames/privacy-policy
* Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation): https://www.playstation.com/legal/privacy-policy/
* Squarespace (website hosting, forms, newsletter and online shop): https://www.squarespace.com/privacy
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to a buyer or successor if our business is sold or merged. Some of these companies are located outside Canada, mainly in the United States, so your information may be processed there.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information:
* Saved games and settings on your device: until you delete them or uninstall the game
* Platform account, achievement and trophy data: kept by each platform under its own policy
* Messages and support requests: up to 24 months after the conversation ends, then deleted
* Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe
* Shop orders: as long as tax and accounting laws require (in Canada, generally six years)
* Website usage data: according to Squarespace's retention settings
When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. Your Choices:
* You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing us at amuawiyah@hexonine.com or using our contact page. We will reply within 30 days.
* You can opt out of our newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
* You can manage your privacy settings, and remove a game's access to your account, in your account settings with each platform (for example, your Epic account's connected apps).
* If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (https://www.priv.gc.ca). If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security:
We implement reasonable measures to safeguard your information, but no system is 100% secure.
9. Changes to Our Privacy Policy:
We may update our privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
